Juniperus virginiana 'Skyrocket' is a plant that sounds dramatic, and that is rather fitting as it certainly is! Tall and slender, this is an extremely eye catching tree that can either fill the gaps between other tall screening trees, be planted in numbers so as to create their own screen, or used as individual specimen trees to add drama and structure to your garden. They are truly unusual trees with a highly architectural growing habit that creates a slender needle of blue green foliage, the branches appearing to have been swept upwards as though carefully coiffed by the most talented of hair stylists before being lightly sprayed with an icy blue finish. Reaching heights of around 15 feet Ð sometimes more Ð and a width at the bottom of around two feet, it is easy to see how very distinctive these trees are.
