Amethyst Astilbe

Amethyst Astilbe - 3 root divisionsAmethyst Astilbe: "Astilbe japonica

Glorious plumes of vivid lilac pink flowers brighten up even the deepest shade, energizing it with brilliant color in early summer. Ideal for woodland areas, this vigorous variety forms a mound of foliage up to 2’ tall, and the flowers rise above it on strong upright stems 3’ high. Fluffy blooms add textural interest to cut flower bouquets, and ornamental interest in the garden when flowers go to seed. ‘Amethyst’ astilbe is an excellent ground cover, and can also be used as a border or edging plant near ponds and creek beds."
